Shanghai's metro, buses, and ferries offer several payment options, including single tickets, the Shanghai Public Transportation Card, and transport apps. Some international bank cards work only with supported cards and devices.
Before travelling, check whether contactless payment is enabled on your card and review app registration, top-up, and refund rules in the official guide. Keep a backup payment method in case your preferred option does not work.
