Scope
These standards apply to city guides, summaries and recommendations written by WCIVIS. Member posts and comments represent their authors' experiences and opinions and remain separate from WCIVIS editorial content.
1. Source priority
For factual claims, we prioritize public material closest to the original authority.
Government, local authority, public-agency and official emergency guidance
Official operating information from transport bodies, venues and event organizers
Reliable specialist institutions when additional context is necessary
Community experience is labeled separately and does not replace official facts
2. Verification and freshness
Changeable details such as transport, fares, hours and safety information include sources and a review date.
Link the original source close to the relevant claim
When official sources differ, prioritize the responsible authority and latest notice
Do not publish unverifiable figures, rankings or categorical claims
Tell readers to recheck official guidance before relying on time-sensitive details
3. Community experience
Local experience is valuable city knowledge, but it can vary by person, place and time.
Show the member author and publication time
Never create fake member accounts or reviews and present them as real user experience
Require disclosure when advertising, sponsorship or another interest is known
Review reported false, illegal or dangerous content under platform rules
Do not present individual experience as government policy or universal fact
4. AI and translation
AI may assist translation, classification, summarization and drafting, but it does not replace sourcing or accountability.
Do not publish invented sources or unverified AI claims
Check meaning, proper names and emergency information in translations
Do not treat AI output alone as conclusive medical, legal or safety advice
Disclose automated generation or translation when it matters to the reader

Tell us when content is inaccurate, outdated or inconsistent with its source. We check the original material and current status before deciding whether to correct, label or remove it.
